Yoga for Healthy Aging

My mother was the inspiration for Yoga for Healthy Aging. She was attending my Yoga for Stress Relief class, but it was too much for her. So we started doing private lessons at her home. Pretty soon, her friends wanted lessons too so we had to move from the living room to the studio because there wasn't enough space for everyone who wanted to join us!

MBT Book Club

Wednesdays 7:00-9:00PM est

Mind. Body. Transformation. Books have the power to challenge our current thinking and give us new perspectives that can transform our lives. MBT Book Club combines book club discussion with a yoga practice. Studies have shown that yoga increases neuroplasticity, the ability to create new pathways or thought patterns in the brain which helps us better integrate our new perspectives. As we progress through the book, usually a chapter at a time, we meet weekly for discussion and yoga.

Student Quote: This class actually makes me look forward to Mondays! (Well, the class isn’t on Mondays anymore, but the sentiment still holds true!)

Yoga for Meditation

Thursdays 7:15-8:30pm est

Yoga for Meditation is for anyone who wants to explore the power combining yoga and breathwork to set the stage for a deeper meditation experience. This class combines breath aligned movement and centering breath practices to prepare your body and mind to be still.

This class is for anyone who, regardless of experience, who wants to learn this powerful technique along with the support and encouragement that comes from meditating in a group. All ability levels are welcome and the best part is you don’t have to sit on the floor to meditate, a chair works just as well.

Private Coaching

There are as many reasons for private coaching as there are students. Here are just a few:

  • modifications for a physical constraint

  • establishing a home yoga practice

  • help with a challenging pose

  • modified practice while recovering from surgery or an injury

  • not feeling ready to start a class and want some private instruction first
